The Impressive Poker Skills of Can Kim Hua

Can Kim Hua forms part of the increasing number of Vietnamese Americans who are getting involved with poker. Although he is not as popular as the other poker players, or other Vietnamese American poker players for that matter, he has always been an active professional poker player. Can Kim Hua, also known as CK, says that he only became knowledgeable of poker in 2000. Some poker enthusiasts probably believe him, but for sure, there are also some poker enthusiasts who find it hard to believe that he only learned how to play the game in 2000. This is because he has always shown impressive poker skills at the poker table.

Born on July 7 and resides in Rosemead, California, Can Kim Hua first showed his impressive poker talent at the No Rebuy Weekend tournament that was held on February 5, 2000. He became one of the players at the final table of a No Limit Hold'em game, finishing in sixth place. One month after such event, he became a participant of the Winnin' O the Green Tournament. He was the first prize winner in a Limit Hold'em game, receiving US$18,225. He also joined a No Limit Hold'em game of the Winnin' O the Green Tournament in the same month and ended up as a runner up, having the chance to take home US$2,000.

Can Kim Hua also experienced participating in the Mini-Series of Poker tournament in May 2000. In this tournament, he also showed his impressive talent in playing poker as he won first place in a Limit Seven Card Stud game. The prize he took home was worth US$4,610. Two days after such victory, he became one of the contestants of a Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event. He did not win first place this time but he cashed in the money, finishing in the ninth spot.

Can Kim Hua also took part in the Stars and Stripes 2000 tournament. On July 1, 2000, he finished ninth in a No Limit Hold'em game, and on July 3, he finished first in a Limit Omaha Hi/Lo game.

With such victories, it is not surprising that Can Kim Hua could also be triumphant in other major poker events. When he attended the Legends of the Poker tournament in 2000, he placed second in a Limit Seven Card Stud game, first in a Limit Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo game, and ninth in a No Limit Hold'em game.

Still in 2000, Can Kim Hua had the chance to finish in the money in games organized by such tournaments as the Heavenly Hold'em Tournament, the Tom McEvoy's Poker Spectacular tournament, the Big Poker Oktober tournament, the Holiday Bonus Tournament, and the 30K Guaranteed Weekend tournament.

The poker achievements of Can Kim Hua that we mentioned here all occurred in 2000, the year when he learned how to play poker. Well, for someone who was a novice during that time, it is definitely not surprising how he has generated approximately US$3,000,000 as of 2007.
